Waterfest 2009

Waterfest is held every year at Englishtown NJ, and is known for being one of if not the largest VW and Audi event in the US.   Taking place this year on July 18th and 19th we made it a point to drive up the road and check it out.

The show was definitely HUGE. VWs, Audis, Porsches, pretty much a DTM mecca for the weekend had been created at Raceway Park in Englishtown and well we definitely stuck out cruising around in the Mustang.  It was great to see the dedication so many people have to their cars, with everything from high performing race preped cars to show cars with thousands of dollars invested in making sure every little detail is as they want it to be.

Walking around it seemed the cars that pulled the most attention were the Audi R8s that were on hand.  While none of them had been modified in any way the R8 is still an immaculate car, and I truley admire the styling and performance brought out in these cars.

Of course vendors made their mark as well, APR a renound and well accomplished shop with VWs was present with several of their race cars as well as demo cars that have a wide range of their available products and custom work installed and on display for potential customers.  APR has been tearing it up on the road course with their VWs so it is no wonder that so many people were interested to see what they needed to get their cars to compete just as well.

Another well known tuner of DTM cars was on hand with several of their high powered projects was AWE Tuning, now making their home at New Jersey Motorsport park just a short drive south from Englishtown.  AWE is well know in the DTM world esspecially for their work on Porsches, VWs and Audis.  The car they had that I absolutely fell in love with was a Porsche Turbo whith upgraded everything, including brakes and an even larger turbo set up creating a monster of power.
