Of course we took the Mustang to an all Mustang event, DUH! Well even more of a reason was that it was set up by our friend Spaz. Overall it was a great day the racing was a lot of fun and the Mustang had not been on a drag strip since all of the drivetrain work had been done by Springfield Motorsports so it was definitely worth seeing what the car would do.
The race was on July 27th, which was a bit of a hinderance I believe since that was also the main day of Mustang Week which we unfortunately missed. The good news in the entire thing was that there were still some die hard racers who just felt the urge to show up as we did. I mean really who can pass up a day of racing.
The event was held at Old Dominion Speedway which is a 1/8th mile track in Manassas VA, just off of Route 234 sitting back in the trees. While 1/8 mile is not our usually racing with this car since we are more into the twisties it did make for a lot of fun anyway. Some of the great cars there included a new 2010 black Mustang GT500 coupe, Pete brought out his Ford GT, and of course we brought out our car =D
Check out the photos in the gallery I gaurentee you will wish you were there too =)
