Changes to the Site

Changes are coming to the site, little by little based on the comments we have received from others.  With many things coming we wanted to give everyone just a small preview.

First we have finally worked out the issues we previously had with the mapping system and are currently updating the database with many locations to search from.  What does this mean to you, well simply you will now be able to search a complete map system for performance shops, body shops, parts retailers, manufacturers, dealerships for new and used cars, and even audio and interior shops.  Basically if you are looking for somewhere to get your car taken care of we will help you find it.

Next is the change to the addition of Twitter, we decided it would be cool to give  a play by play of the events we attend and share comments others make about ECR on Twitter.  It is really just something we want to have fun with and we thing will bring valuable content to you.

The Racing Coverage is changing as well.  We are going to be making a very focused effort on covering the Grand-Am Rolex and KONI road racing series with regular updates on what is going on, republishing of the Grand-Am news releases and race updates, and of course a detailed breakdown of the point standings.

Changing the galleries as well, coming after we found we can no longer rely on Flickr.  It is not entirely Flickr’s fault in fact we are only upset that they did not allow us to prove we owned the content we published, however the fact is that someone maliciously and with the intent to harm the progress of ECR made a false claim which resulted in our Flickr account being closed and deleted with no warning.  At the time we were using Flickr to host all of our photos on the site, now we have gone to hosting them localy and are changing the gallery system as we look to improve the site. As a side note yes we are investigating legal action against those who were involved in this attack.

The store, yes it is coming.  We are currently working on getting resale agreements and licenses so that we can bring wonderful products to you.  Let us know what you would like to see sold on ECR and we will do everything we can to include it.

Look for all of these changes to be finalized by the end of May.
